Every Folify portfolio is built to rank on search engines — with structured data, automatic sitemaps, Open Graph metadata, and SEO settings you control from the dashboard. You don’t need to touch a line of code or install a plugin; Folify handles the technical foundation so you can focus on creating compelling content.

What Folify Handles Automatically

From the moment you publish your portfolio, Folify takes care of the following without any setup on your part:
  • Auto-generated sitemap — submitted to Google and Bing so your portfolio gets crawled and indexed faster
  • JSON-LD structured data — Person/ProfilePage schema is added to every portfolio, helping Google understand who you are and surface your profile in rich results
  • Canonical URLs — prevent duplicate content issues if your portfolio is accessible from more than one URL
  • Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata — controls how your portfolio looks when shared as a link on LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Slack, or any other platform
  • Fast load times — powered by Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) and automatic image optimization, both of which are positive ranking signals
  • HTTPS for all portfolios — a confirmed ranking signal for Google, included automatically on every Folify portfolio

SEO Settings You Can Control

In addition to the automatic optimizations above, you can fine-tune the SEO metadata that appears in search results and social previews.
1

Open SEO Settings

Go to Portfolio Settings → SEO from your Folify dashboard.
2

Set Your Page Title

Enter the title that will appear as the clickable link in Google search results. Use your full name and role for the best results — for example: Jane Doe — UI/UX Designer or Alex Chen | Full-Stack Developer.
3

Write a Meta Description

Write 1–2 sentences that describe who you are and what you do. This text appears below your title in search results and is often the first thing a recruiter or client reads.
4

Add Relevant Keywords

Enter keywords that reflect your skills, tools, and industry — for example: React developer, brand identity designer, freelance illustrator. These help search engines match your portfolio to relevant queries.
5

Upload a Social Preview Image

Upload an image that represents your portfolio visually. This image is shown whenever someone shares your portfolio link on social media, in Slack, or in messaging apps.
6

Save Your Changes

Click Save. Your updated SEO metadata goes live on your next portfolio publish.

Tips for Ranking on Google

Folify’s automated SEO gives you a strong technical foundation, but the content you write is what ultimately drives your rankings. Here are the most impactful things you can do:
  • Use your full name and job title in the Header Block — this is the most prominent text on your page and carries the most SEO weight
  • Write detailed project descriptions — include the problem you solved, the tools you used, and the outcome you delivered, with relevant keywords woven in naturally
  • Keep your portfolio updated with recent work — freshness is a ranking signal, and it also makes a better impression on visitors
  • Add a clear meta description in SEO settings — a well-written meta description improves click-through rates from search results
  • Link to your portfolio from LinkedIn, GitHub, and social profiles — inbound links from authoritative sites are one of the strongest ranking signals in Google’s algorithm
Folify handles all the technical SEO. Your job is to fill in descriptive, keyword-rich content — your name, role, project details, and skills. The more context you give, the better your portfolio performs in search.
